Geocache Description:

This is the first of three caches in this series. The cache is reached by a very passable trail through the woods.  The terrain has mild ups and downs. Use common sense and walk to the right when passing a 70-100' section of eroded trail along the cliff early on the trail. Minimal bushwhacking is needed to reach the final hiding spot. This is a traditional hide but not a traditional container.  Saying a prayer to the GPS gods to grant mercy might help in this solemn setting.

Trash to Treasure!  This 295-acre gem of trails, woods and spectacular Merrimack River views almost became a trash landfill.  The Concord Regional Solid Waste Resource Recovery Cooperative reluctantly shelved those plans in 2006 only after strong opposition from Canterbury residents and others who feared what the consequences would be to have such a large dump so close to these pristine highlands overlooking the scenic Merrimack River. A happy ending was finalized when the NH Fish and Game Dept. agreed to protect this area as a Wildlife Management Area.  Hiking, snowshoeing, cross country skiing and especially mountain biking are encouraged for your search. This series of three caches is accessible by taking Exit 17 on I-93.  Travel west for several hundred feet on Hoit Road and take a right onto Old Boyce Road.   Quickly take a left at the first fork, go straight and park at the pull off in front of the large brown Muchyedo Banks sign at the sharp left curve.  Or use your GPS to this cache area; you are there!
