Welcome to Bash-A-Buggane! Do you remember those games in the arcade that had you hitting targets (moles) with a mallet as they popped up? This is a full-scale, life-size version of that game! The playing time is 5 minutes.
This cartridge is taken from the original by Ranger Fox called Whack-A-Lackey. It has been changed and given a Manx theme by twoofnine.
All credit for the coding should go to Ranger Fox who gave permission to use it in this version.
This is a play anywhere game. If you are playing to find the geocache then you must be on the Isle of Man.
How it works:
All the instructions are accessed from the main menu. First choose an open space to play the game. You need a large area, about 40 yards/metres in diameter. Once you have found this area, stand in the centre and go to the Game Control item to start your game. It helps to remember the centre of your playing field. Choose your playing area wisely so it's free of obstacles and you can get anywhere quickly.
You can choose to bash Buggane, the hardest level of play, or you can practice by bashing Fairies or even Dragons.
The distance you have to travel to bash something increases for different levels. Fairies are easy, Dragons a bit harder and Buggane, well they are just evil!
The object of the game is to reach a high score.
If you want the location of the geocache to be revealed then you must be playing in Buggane mode and reach a certain high score.
Oh and did we mention the BONUS items?
To make the game even more fun 'Bonus' items will occasionally pop up in the game. Each 'Bonus' is covered in the Instructions part of the game. To summarise: the Atomic Hammer whacks everything, Gold Hammer everything within 50' for 45 seconds, Black Hole shrinks the field, Extender expands the field, Angry Muggle takes a bite out of your score, Bomb clears the field, and Acceleratron makes time go faster. Learn which to get for a higher score and which to leave alone!
Logging a find:
If you reach the set high score you will be presented with the geocache coordinates and a hint. Sign the paper log sheet as normal and tell us about your 'high score' and adventure!

What is a wherigo geocache?
Wherigo's are GPS location aware interactive games/tours that can be played on a variety of GPS receivers and smartphones. You will need to install a Wherigo player onto your smartphone or other device in order to play it, once you have installed the player you will then need to download and install the cartridge from the link at the top of the page
