Brief History of North Weare Schoolhouse:
Also known as the Riverside Academy. The school is a 1 1/2 story brick building located on Old Concord Stage Road, it was constructed in 1856 and was used as a public school until 1952 for the North Weare School District #16. The building is a mixture of Federal, Greek revival, and Italianate style. The property was sold to the Hales Town Grange #287 in 1960. An addition to the building was added to the back of the building in the 1960s, but the rest is relatively unaltered. It was listed on the National Registery of Historic Places in 1995, and is currently being restored.
