Geocache Description:

This is a cache to memorialize Corey's canine friends Molley and Buckley Shurtleff. Jane and David Shurtleff moved away to Arizona. In the process, they offered up a parcel of land to add to the Patch Hill conservation land. This addition is called Shurtleff Woods and this cache is a going-away present.

The best parking to reach this cache is on Liberty Square Road or Patch Hill Road.

The listed coordinates are for the previous Shurtleff residence. You will need to solve the puzzle below to find the final coordinates for the cache. You need to make a couple of keen observations and do some analysis.  The cache requires some minor off-trail bushwhacking.

Consider the following list of sentences. Each sentence contains a hidden element. The element from each sentence will form an obvious pattern or connection to a common theme. To solve this puzzle, you need to discover the hidden element in each sentence and deduce the connection with the theme that binds together all the elements.

A. After the one-on-one call, I opened Aunt Bee’s will and disclosed her wishes to everyone.
B. By scoring over 90% on the last math quiz I thereby avoided having to ace the final.
C. Conjugating verbs in French strengthened my understanding of verb tense.
D. HP promised David a job as soon as he graduated from Drexel University.
E. In my Honda Accord, I only achieved forty-one MPG while Ben got over 50 in his Prius.
F. Michael Oldfield’s debut album was titled Tubular Bells.
G. Rural horse trails were transformed into suburban jogging paths across Patch Hill.
H. Several metal zils within a wooden hoop provide the high-pitched sounds of a tambourine.
I. The first polyphonic synthesizer was developed in Germany.
J. There was an old-fashioned pencil sharpener on the wall of Paul’s classroom.

Once you have determined the hidden elements, reorder the 10 sentences based on a unique characteristic of these elements and decode the coordinates below by substituting the correct sequential order for each letter. For example, if the correct order is BFADECGIJ then B=1, F=2, A=3…I=9, J=10.

Coordinates:

North:              42  FE.DCA

West:               071 CH.BBJ

Retrieving the cache container is a minor puzzle in the field. Please do this carefully.
