Geocache Description:

The cemetery staff gave the OK and know where the cache is.

Mostly level walk in the Old Southwick Cemetery.

Access is from the New Southwick cemetery. Parking is at the sand pit between the cemeteries.

Less then .2 walk to first stage.

should only be done from sunrise to sundown!!

Final is a Bison tube.

At stage one you find the gravestone of Julius Lee who was exploded in a gun powder mill.On the stone is listed his age at the time he died.

Take his age and add it to ..535 for the final stage at N42 02.XXX. Add his age to .044 for the final stage at W72 47.ZZZ.

There used to be 5 or more gun powder mills along what was called the 2 mile brook, later called Powder Mill brook and now called Great Brook.

At 30 Powder Mill Road there is a brown house that is build on the foundation of the last powder mill. There was at least 10 or more killed in explosions through the years of operations.

On March 24, 1932 Ripley's Believe It or Not published the grave stone of Julius Lee in a Florida newspaper.

At N42 02.699 W72 46.906 you can see the grave stone of Lester Vining who was killed by his daughter with an hatchet. She is called " The Southwick version of Lizzie Borden!

At last years spirit walk they had a actor playing the part with the actual hatchet! She really spooked one of the men taking the tour!

I will be playing the father of Julius Lee at this year's tour.
