Geocache Description:

The trails around Willand Pond have been improved as an Eagle Scout project. Here's an unexpected outdoor oasis just steps from the busy shopping and dining area nearby. This cache will involve a walk of about 2 miles on flat wide trails.

The posted coordinates will bring you to a trailhead sign with distances for various points shown. Your next waypoint will be N 43 13 ABC W 70 53.DEF. Add up the distances displayed excluding the distance to the farthest rest bench. Drop the decimal point and add your total to the posted north coordinates. Call your new number ABC (which will have a check sum of 20). Now you need to determine DEF, which will be the new west coordinates. D is the distance to the Somersworth side. E is the distance to the middle rest benches (ignoring the decimal point). F is half the distance to the picnic area (ignoring the decimal point). Check sum of DEF is 9. After a pleasant walk, you should be standing at an informational sign about Willand Pond. Determine the size of the pond in acres and add one. Subtract that number from ABC and call it LMN. The new west coordinates will be RSD. R is the number of letters in the first word at the top left corner of the sign. S is the number of letters in the last word on the sign in the bottom right corner minus 1. Your next waypoint will be N 43 13.LMN W 70 53.RSD. At the next waypoint, you will find a metal benchmark mounted in the ground next to a stump. On the outer ring, there are 6 words and a number. The number is hard to read, but you can figure it out. Call the number WXYZ. Add Y and Z to LMN for the final north coordinates. On the inner ring, it tells you the Survey Number Corner. Look carefully. Multiply the first digit of that number by 5 and add it to RSD for the final west coordinates. You can grab the final on your way out.
