Transformers Trail Mystery Cache

This is a great dog trail on National Forest land. It passes over a couple of saddles to Cow Creek, and from there you can go deeper along a trail system that will eventually take you into RMNP (but not with your dog, obviously). The trail is good for all but the smallest kids, but you'll only want to take older ones to the cache site itself.

This trail is rarely used, which is what makes it such a great place to take your dog. There is some water along the way, depending on the time of year, and the hike is about 1.5 hrs to the creek and back. (The cache is much closer.)

I'm told there are some very nice falls if you follow Cow Creek to West Creek, then hike upstream. There was a lot of flood damage to the trails back there though, so make sure you have topo maps loaded onto your GPS. There is no cell coverage in this area. I'd love to see a picture of the falls posted here, as I've never been that far.
