This area is rich in history. The Boston and Maine Railroad, now Pan AM/Amtrak runs on the big bridge. At one point, when there were three bridges, one would be for the trolley car. One was even a covered bridge. They were washed away with the floods of the early/mid 1900s. Please check out by searching the three bridges of Greenfield. It is worth checking out. Also, where you are standing, the movie "The Judge", was filmed here. If you have watched the movie, or are going to see the movie, you will reconize this place. Meanwhile, bring your own pen as it is in the usual spot. Also, the person across the street knows all about this place the and may even help. A lot of people will park here to photograph the bridge and remains of the bridges.
