Geocache Description:

Hidden in a town park in Melrose. This small park inludes a memorial to First Lieutenant James Dunton, one of the earliest casulaties of the Vietnam war.

James Dunton was born in Salem Massachusetts, but grew up in Melrose. He graduated Melrose High, where he played football and ran track. He went to Harvard and joined the ROTC.

He was killed in Vietnam in December 1964. His name can be found on Panel 1E Row 74 on Washington DC's Vietnam memorial.
