The World Wide Flash Mob events usually means coming together for a very short event (10-15 minutes) at the same time all over the world (that's 3am for us) to do something silly and get a souvenir.
Unfortunately, there will be no souvenir this year and due to the new Groundspeak rules, the event must be longer than 30 minutes, but that doesn't mean we can't still partake.
AGENDA
0945 - 0959 Participants casually position themselves (not in large groups) within walking distance of GZ (but not in eye shot of GZ)
0959 - 1000 Casually make your way to GZ, but act like a muggle, pretend not to know each other or give any indication that something is about to happen.
1001 - 1014 Grab a piece of paper from GZ and you have 30 minutes to mingle, chat and make the best paper plane you can.
1015 - 1029 Make your way to the Rope and line up
1030 On the count of 3, release your plane to the accolades or ridicule of those in attendance.
10.45 Immediately leave the area. The area will be evacuated without a trace. The treasure chest will be packed up along with the log book at this time.
Who know's there may be prizes for longest flight, best style and most pathetic effort.
Come and join in the day, it promises to be fun.
*** Dont forget there will be the Trackable Display Table setup for anyone who wishes to place down Travel Bugs that need to be Traded, moved on or even just discovered (I think even the table might be a trackable too! ***
FTF will be drawn from the treasure chest, the best Paper Plane will be announced and prizes shall be awarded. Participants assemble for the traditional WWFM group photos and to record the group.
If everything goes right we will have had people coming out of nowhere and gathering for 30 minutes, holding a geocaching event and then disappearing for the Flash Mob to have its full effect, it must appear to come from nowhere and disappear just as quickly.
