The Alps 2 Ocean cycle way links Mount Cook (Alps) to the Ocean at Oamaru.
For over 300 km visitors can experience some of the most beautiful scenery New Zealand has to offer. Suitable for all ages, the trail is an easy grade, and offers a pleasing mix of on and off-road trails which link the Southern Alps to the Pacific Ocean. Allow 4-6 days for the entire ride, or simply try out a day excursion. Whichever option you choose, the Alps 2 Ocean Cycle Trail is sure to be a memorable experience.

The cache is a micro container with log book only. Bring your own pen. The very substantial Oamaru stone near GZ are the old Eldeslie Estate stables. The homestead was located about 500m towards Oamaru but was gutted by fire some time ago. The foundations some outbuildings and the gardens can still be seen. The two storied house near the stables is original house use by the head stableman
