Bryher has the distinction of being England's most westerly populated island, and Gweal Hill has the distinction of being Bryher's most westerly point. It overlooks Gweal, Crow and Merrick Islands, Black Rocks and Scilly Rock. Unusually for Scilly, it's possible to see all the populated islands from the top of Gweal Hill - the Day Mark of St Martin's beyond Tresco, and St Mary's and St Agnes to the south, beyond Samson. The vista is one of the most spectacular in Scilly and that was my original reason for bringing you up there. However, a change of plan forced the relocation of this cache in 2016, but it remains a nice easy cache and one that's well worth the stroll, I hope.
