Another Lookout Tower
The mayor of Alsómocsolád, László Dicső is amazingly talented in finding resources for his little village. If there are funds available for development, Alsómocsolád is always there, applying, often winning. The mayor's accomplishments are not only visible in the village, but we can say, they literary tower over it.
The European Union supports the construction of lookout towers. This is why Alsómocsolád could get net 28.5 million Ft (90,000 Euros) from the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development (EAFRD).
The constructor was selected from the next village, Mágocs, not from az obscure, far away place, like in many cases, and the sturdy, well-built structure shows that the whole amount of money received was spent on it.
The construction started in March 2015 and was finished on July 3rd.

When I first heard about the tower, I was not very supportive. Why does the village need a tower, when there is such a fantastic view from the Calvary Hill GC21XHT-3? But when I visited it, I changed my opinion. The two look out points show completely different angles, the first the village, the second the Mecsek mountain all around. They have completely different atmosphere, both are well worth the visit.

How to Get there?
Park at the suggested waypoint. Find the trail behind the building. Mind your step, because there are several small stumps, stubs hiding in the grass that can make one trip easily.
