Maggie- No Tools Required Traditional Geocache

Welcome to Lake Glenmaggie………

I have always been intrigued with the history of Lake Glenmaggie. The 1st settler to the area was Malcolm McFarlane in the 1850's. Other people followed him and Glenmaggie township was formed. In its peak Glenmaggie township had two hotels, three churches, a number of shops and a mechanical institute. By 1925 the whole township had been relocated because of the wall being built to make way for the Lake to ease water shortages. In the very dry years when the lake is very low, what was left over of the township can be still seen and people have driven over the bridges that are usually deep under water. The lake feeds the local farms for irrigation and when the lake is low the foreshore makes for a very nice walk.

Also a very popular spot on the Lake for water skiing and recreational boating activities is Sandy Point. There is also another caravan park nearby. In the summer months this area is 'Muggleville' so stealth will be required and please return the cache as found.

We decided to add another cache to this Lake series. The cache has no room so will need to  B.Y.O pen.
