The Imitation game is a film, about the cracking of the Enigma code in WW2. This cache is about the story that this film tells, rather than the facts of what actually might have occurred.
During WW2, Germany believed that it’s communications were indecipherable to the Allies due to them encrypting it with the enigma machine. However mathematicians at Bletchley Park cracked the cyphers produced by the enigma machine and played a vital role in the final defeat of Germany
There are several write-ups of how the enigma machine worked and also how it was cracked, they are all too long and detailed to include in this cache, although very interesting.
