Why Would I Lie? (1980)

Why Would I Lie? is a 1980 American comedy/drama film about a compulsive liar named Cletus (Treat Williams). The film, which was directed by Larry Peerce and shot in Spokane, Washington, is based on the novel The Fabricator by Hollis Hodges.

Cletus is a compulsive liar. He prefers the term 'fabrication' to lie though. When Cletus becomes a social worker he's assigned the case of a boy called Jorge (with a 'J') who was taken from his mother. Cletus sets out to reunite Jorge with his mother, but to do so he has to fabricate many a story to keep Jorge from being adopted. In search of the mother, Cletus meets and falls in love with a women's advice councillor.

Each of five cachers (one is Scareway) released a cache dedicated to a different movie filmed in Spokane. Each cache was hidden in a different location. A different container (one was a Bison tube) held each cache. From the information provided, can you determine the movie each one is dedicated to (one is Benny & Joon), each cache's location (one is Finch Arboretum), and the container used.

1. Trevor and Kate hid their cache at the top of Antoine's Peak. The ammo can is hidden in Dishman Hills. The Bison tube is not hidden in John Shield's Park.

2. Iller Creek (which is not where Blue Meanies, hid their cache) is the home of the Mozart & the Whale. John Shields Park (which is not where the nano or matchstick container is hidden) is not the home of the cache named after The Basket.

3. Majeda (who has a crush on Mary Stuart Masterson) used a Lock & Lock container. He did not hike all the way up Iller Creek.

4. Geocrackers did not use a nano or an ammo can for their Knights of Badassdom cache.

5. A matchstick container was used for the cache dedicated to Vision Quest.

A = Majeda's Movie

B = Trevor and Kate's Container

C = Scareway's Container

D = Iller Creek's Movie

V = John Shield's Container

X = Knight's of Badassdom's Cacher

Y = Iller Creek's Container

Z = Disman Hill's Cacher
