Welcome to Shirley! This small town has been around since 1753. This cache doesn't bring you to a famous place, only to the Hazen hill estates. Hazen hill I assume was named for the Hazen family, which donated financially to several town projects. Mrs Betsy Hazen was especially praiseworthy, since she purchased a piano for the church meeting house and donated three thousand dollars to erect a library, called “Hazen Memorial Library” to this day. I’m not entirely sure if the Hazens lived on the hill, but it’s fun to imagine that I’m in the same place as some kind woman who donated so much to the library I love.
Congratulations to Boston Brewins finding the cache first!
