The Yarra Expedition Part 6: Bend of Isles
Walk the path, and journey to the source. These are not metaphors. They are instructions.
The Event Series
This is the sixth event in an expedition to cache along the entire course of the Yarra river. The purpose of this event series is to travel the river from its end to beginning and see it in all its form, its diversity, who it homes, its changes, bends and beauty. The sixth part of the expedition will have us finally hit the water - with a paddle downstream of the Bend of Isles!
The Event PART 6
Meeting at the Posted coordinates at 09:30am. The event will run for 30min. At 10am the event will conclude and those who wish can join us on a further downstream paddle which is estimated to be a 3-5km (taking into account bends and twists). We will be starting from Lower Homestead Rd and finishing at Wittons Reserve carpark.
You will need to bring your own Kayak, lifevest, paddle and helmet. Please wear a helmet as downstream is known for some rapids.
Bring sunscreen, snacks and water!
