"Enough with the pleasantries. Let's make a plan."

WinterCamp at Federation Hut
We are now going into the fifth year of this fine tradition of holding camp-events. So quite obviously we are doing it again. Wahooo!
If you feel like a nice weekend away from everything, join us in the High Country and share some of your geocaching stories while celebrating the placement of a great geocaching series. BYO will be the theme of the evening since there is nothing to buy. Sharing on the other hand is highly encouraged.
Now while you're looking at the map, you might scratch your head and ask yourself how do you drive there. There is a simple answer to this: You don't. Vehicle access ends at either of the two trail-heads which are listed below. Yes it is a bit of a walk and I strongly recommend this event for experienced hikers only. You don't want to die out there - other people did that already. The above picture gives you a taste of the possible conditions (it was taken at least year's event). Here are the technical details:
What: Having some dinner and a couple of drinks
When: 15 July 2017 - 17:00 - 22:00
Why: Because we can
Where: Federation Hut Mt Feathertop
This event will be held together with the Victorian Climbing Club. If you've never camped in the snow or have little experience and always wanted to try it, there will be a mid-week VCC briefing in Melbourne a couple of weeks before. Just get in touch with us via email: bwwc@geocaching.melbourne
There's no requirement to camp there in order to attend the event however it might be the safer option. If the weather should be really terrible, we might have to postpone the event but we will post this a couple of days prior to the event.

The 2017 Geocaching Series - we want to highlight the great outdoors and the possibilities the state of Victoria offers. This series is going back to the roots of geocaching: Experience, friendship, adventure, the wow-moment and of course location, location, location. You are more than welcome to contribute to the series > just contact one of the cache owners to find out more.
