Ruby Beach is one of the prettiest places I visited on the
coast. To get to it you must hike down a rather steep, but well
kept, trail. Its easy to find from the parking area and the
following description.
From the north end of the parking area find an interpretive display
that talks about the formation of the huge rock formations in the
ocean just off the coast in this area. To the left of it is the
trail which leads down to the beach.
About two thirds of the way down, is a switch-back to the right. A
split rail fence is on the beach side of the switch back. On the
left side of the switch back is an attractive wooden bench. While I
was there, I saw nobody except myself take the opportunity to sit
on the bench and take in the unique view from that point. So to log
this cache, take a few minutes to do just that. I would suspect
that you will become spell bound as did I.
To log this cache as "Found," e-mail us the answers to the
following questions and include a photo in your online log of you
at the cache site with your GPS:
How many posts are in the split rail
fence in front of the bench and on the outside of the trail
switchback?
After enjoying the view from there, be sure to go on down and stoll
up and down beautiful Ruby Beach.
