Geocache Description:

There is no cache located at the posted coordinates, just the edge... This is another mystery cache in the 2016 Advent Puzzle Series. You will have to solve the puzzle to find the correct coordinates, so read on...

Please note the 6/19/18 Maintenance Note near the end of the cache description.

Please note the presence of rattlesnake(s) as has been reported occasionally in the past along the gravel path or in the adjacent fields near the parking area. When in PA's wild outdoor areas, please prepare accordingly and stay alert. Enjoy your hike!

This puzzle cache is number 4 of the 2016 Advent Puzzle Series from mrGreen317 and SageHippo. mrGreen317 and SageHippo have exchanged small gifts on alternating days during the four weeks of Advent (leading up to Christmas Day) for many years. It was in 2016 that SageHippo surprised mrGreen317 with a geocaching twist on her gifts to him. Instead of just putting them in boxes or bags and giving them directly, she decided to hide them around town in an ammo can, hidden in different pre-selected locations that mrGreen317 would have to search in the afternoons to get his gifts. But the real fun was that 7 different puzzles were created for mrGreen317 to first solve, and these puzzles were printed in a booklet given to him the Sunday after Thanksgiving. It was a fun December of puzzle solving, and SageHippo came up with some good ones.

In this series, mrGreen317 and SageHippo would like to share these puzzles with the geocaching community, hiding legitimate, published caches throughout the winter using the same puzzle ideas that SageHippo first concocted for mrGreen317.

This fourth puzzle (modified from the original) involves sharing a short story...

Geocaching is definitely fun and takes people to new places. We have been no exception. Just look at our activities over the course of 2016. For Instance Perhaps Some 6-4 cache might catch our attention. We might go out of our way to grab some->caches out under new territory, you<-know, to expand our adventure. We have elaborate ramblings every instant since this hobby elevated consideration in the year. (That is to say, geocaching has really given us many fun adventures this past 2016...)

Now our ramblings took household members mrGreen317, SageHippo, and Little 'E' on one day to Titusville plus Gettysburg. Another day we were in DuBois. And yet another trip was an aggregate of Scranton, Doylestown, Reading, Harrisburg, and Mifflintown.

We energetically surprised the GPS unit with a trip to Lebanon and additionally Pittsburgh. This was followed by a visit to State College. After that, the fun was all summed up with a whirlwind tour of Latrobe, Monongahela, Wellsboro, Tunkhannock, Honesdale, and York.

If you solve and log this cache, maybe you would like to share some of your favorite geocaching travel stories or favorite locations. Feel free to share (just, please, no puzzle or hide location spoilers). As for us, it has been a fun and fulfilling year of travels in 2016, and we are already enjoying the start of a new geocaching year and more adventures in 2017.

A geo-checker is provided for you to verify your solution. This is helpful to verify your coordinates, tell you if you need to worry about SGL rules or not, and to provide parking suggestions once your solution is correct.

A congratulations on FTF goes to Profbrad. Two FTFs with Green-Hippo in one day!

6/19/18 Maintenance Note: The cache container was replaced and the location of GZ slightly moved (about 30 feet) due to repeated issues of the cache getting out of place. The puzzle itself has not changed, and the solved coordinates should still be close enough, however, adding 0.003 or 0.004 to the solved north and subtracting 0.009 from the solved west might provide a slightly adjusted waypoint for the search. The hide is a ground hide and might not always be winter-friendly depending on the amount of snow on the ground.
