A nicely-framed view of Santa Barbara from a rocky perch.

We were trying to find the Rocky Pine Ridge cache, but I think we wound up on the wrong trail. It was a beautiful hike, nonetheless. As a consolation prize to ourselves, we hid this cache above a convenient resting spot.

The trail offers many spectacular views, but the hike is somewhat strenuous, so be sure to come prepared. The cache site is approximately 2780 ft. above sea level.

Appropriate to the name of the cache, the quality of the container and contents are not suitably rewarding for first place finishers. But hey...the fun is in the hunt, right? And the view is a definite winner.

The container is cylindrical and made of transparent plastic with a screw-on lid. It's larger than a micro, but the opening is only 2 inches in diameter, so it's good for pencils, glow sticks, and other slim items.

I looked hard for this one! My GPSr was acting up a bit, but I really wanted to find this one, so I spent the extra effort to "get-r-done". I was hoping to find a fork in the trail here, but I must have gotten a hold of some bad data off of the internet! I had to turn around and hike back down the same way I came up to find a way off of the hill. TNLNSL and thanks for the cache!

I went on a fun hike up to Camino Cielo and we did find Rocky Pine Ridge after much hiking. We lunched by the dry waterfall and then found this one. TFTC

The bod took a LONNNNG time to warm up on this hike with Gotfish?... we stopped at the ledge for a food & wadda break, and whaddyaknow, there was a comfy-cozy mineral-based recliner all the way up there with amazing views!! I couldn't pass up the opportunity to close my eyes and soak up the warm sun. A nap-break on a hike??? That was a first! We finally moved on to find this cache once muggles showed up. I enjoyed the scramble to the cache. Thanks for the destination & TFTsmiley!!
