Memorial Bridge Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Quiddler: At just under five years this cache has had a long, if somewhat troubled, run. I am very reluctant to archive it but it is best that I do so.

I hope that someone else will place a cache at this site in order to help draw visitors to this unique bit of Milford's history. I've been to a number of other Milfords around the country and none has anything to compare with it!

Geocache Description:

This is a micro cache comprising a log only. It is contained in a 35mm film canister.

Milford's Memorial Bridge commemorates the town's founders and Colonial leaders. Many of the family names inscribed on the stones live on in the city today.

There are a number of interesting artifacts incorporated in the memorial, such as a millstone from the first mill in the colony of Connecticut and the door step of a colonial governour (sic).

The tower at Daniel Street is to Milford as the Gateway Arch is to St. Louis. However, there are no elevators to transport tourists to the top of the tower as there are at the Arch.

This is a very public place. Discretion will be needed when hunting for, retrieving, and replacing the cache. Please take care to replace the cache exactly as you found it.
