Das Institut für Planetenforschung des Deutschen Zentrums für Luft- und Raumfahrt (DLR) betreibt gemeinsam mit dem bei Prag gelegenen Observatorium Ondrejov in den Ländern Belgien, Luxemburg, Österreich und der Tschechischen Republik das Europäische Feuerkugelnetz. Ziel ist es, möglichst umfassend Meteore und Meteoriten am europäischen Himmel fotografisch „einzufangen“. Die Stationen sind im Abstand von etwa 100 km aufgestellt und decken eine Fläche von etwa einer Million Quadratkilometern ab.

Einer dieser „Sternschnuppenfänger“ steht in der Eifel bei Neroth. Wir denken, das ist einen Cache wert. Damit die technische Einrichtung möglichst von suchenden Cachern unbehelligt bleibt, haben wir einen Mini-Multi daraus gemacht. Die Dose liegt also nicht bei der Station. Wenn Ihr dort angekommen seid, nur gucken, folgende Fragen beantworten und dann weiter zur etwas entfernten Dose.

Achtung: Der kürzeste Weg ist nicht immer der beste 
Vom Parkplatz führt bei WP1 ein Weg direkt zu Stage 1 und dem Cache. Sollte dieser einmal durch weidende Schafe versperrt sein, könnt Ihr auch über WP2 gehen.
The German DLR - Institute of Planetary Research joint with the Prague located observatory Ondrejov operates the European Fireball Net in Belgium, Luxembourg, Austria and the Czech Republic. The purpose is to photographically “catch” meteors and meteorites in the European sky. The stations are mounted roughly 100 kilometres apart from each other and cover an area of one million square kilometres.

One of these “falling star catchers” exists in the Eifel near Neroth. We do think this is worth a cache. Just to guarantee the technical mechanism remaining unharmed by searching cachers we made a mini-multi of it. Arriving on site simply have a look, answer one question and proceed to the somewhat remote container.

Note: The shortest route isn't always the best
From the parking a path at WP1 leads directly to stage 1 and the cache. Should this be blocked by grazing sheep once, you might as well walk via WP2.
