NOTE: The listed coordinates are not the
location of the cache! You'll have to figure out the location
yourself!
This cache is the second in a series of "IQ Test" caches. You might want
to try the first one,
IQ Test,
before attempting this one, which is a little more difficult.
Ever take one of those IQ tests where you are given a series of numbers, and
told to figure out the next one in the sequence? Well, this cache is a little
like that. Except here you get a series of coordinates.
Here is the series of coordinates:
Point # | Latitude | Longitude |
1 | N 37° 34.648 | W 121° 48.159 |
2 | N 37° 35.187 | W 121° 48.100 |
3 | N 37° 35.719 | W 121° 47.982 |
4 | N 37° 36.735 | W 121° 47.517 |
5 | N 37° 37.977 | W 121° 46.206 |
6 | N 37° 38.446 | W 121° 42.859 |
7 | N 37° 34.382 | W 121° 41.001 |
The cache is not (repeat, not) located at Point #8. It used to be, but things changed. To find the cache location, project a waypoint from Point #8: 35.2 meters at an azimuth of 147.14 degrees (from True North, of course!)
The cache is a camouflaged Tupperware container about 2 inches deep.
Free hint: For this problem you'll need to be able to calculate distances and angles between points very exactly. Use this website to get the distance and bearing using two points, or this one to project a distance and bearing.
I have also now written a program for Windows computers that will do the calculations much more easily. You can get it here.
Good luck!
