On the way to the top of Haleakala and hundreds of feet from the road. Park safely. Watch for uneven terrain. Steep, slippery when wet, tall grass hides small holes/ditches. BE SMART! BE AKAMAI!
HINTS: Clip your keys onto your body. Take a small hand towel. A large plastic jar is the main cache. The cache is on top of a few hub caps. It is inside a heavy black contractors bag. Moisture is the enemy of this cache. Lots of plastic bags. Tidy up the cache if you have a chance, I only get up the mountain once every few months. Wrap it back up, and bring small non-metallic trinkets (TB's seems to fare OK). Use the hubcaps to build the cache up out of the standing water. Keep me clued in on the condition of the cache...I try to cleanup/fixup when necessary. Thanx to everyone that helps keep this cache and parking area tidy! Be safe when parking, there is a very easy and safe parking spot, just look for it, you'll find it! The grass has grown VERY TALL. Be sure you can see the bottom on your parking area before venturing into it. Use caution in the tall grass. Cache is hidden VERY well by the grass!!
