The trail begins at the back of the serene Pine Knolls Cemetery. Parking is available at the trailhead (just drive through the cemetery to the back), but consider taking a longer stroll around the cemetery as well. A short walk down the trail will bring you to the cache, but continue the loop around the point for some views upriver for minimal extra effort and time. You can alternately start at the other end of the trail, see the trailhead waypoints. (Also, a short trail through the woods on the opposite side of the back part of the cemetery connects to South Esker Trail where another cache awaits, too.)
The container is small and cylindrical and shouldn't be hard to find, and was hidden with the help of a an 8-year old who loves exploring in the woods. On August 18, 2020 the cache was rehidden in a similarly straightforward spot right on the trail.
The cache is low to the ground, and could probably be located in winter but might be frozen in place.
