Geocache Description:

Anyone traveling on the Lincoln Woods Trail can see evidence of Lincoln’s logging history.  The former railroad bed still has ties in place and even a piece of rail.  An abutment along the side of the trail is another remnant of the logging era.  A cache is hidden here.

To reach it, park at the Lincoln Woods parking lot (fee required), 5 miles east of Lincoln on the Kancamagus Highway.  Walk to the ranger cabin and take the stairs down on your left.  Bear left, and then cross over the large suspension bridge.  Enjoy the river view while crossing and then turn right on the Lincoln Woods Trail, which is nearly flat as it follows the wide old logging railroad grade.  The cache, which is just under 2 miles away, is a camo’d lock and log with some SWAG for children.
