Geocache Description:

This is what procrastination gets you......

Many years ago, I thought that this rail trail would be a perfect spot for some caches.  As late as this spring I had some plans in the works, but I procrastinated.  And what was the result of my procrastination??  Smileys.  Others hid caches here, and I came and found them, and I got smileys..  What do you get as a result of my procrastination?  You get a not so well thought out, easy to find cache, which will result in a smiley.  Oh, and a little history lesson if you so desire.

Here ya go.

The building of the railroad to Bellows Falls through the "Summit," with rock cutting and drilling, was one of the great engineering feats accomplished in New England, taking three years for completion. The work was done by several hundred men, mostly Irish immigrants, who lived with their families near the "Summit." The first train to carry passengers to Bellows Falls left Keene on January 1, 1849, as a private excursion trip, while on January 8 regular passenger and freight train service commenced.

****8/12/18-I visited the cache location today, and well, the signal was gone! At some point it appears somehow, someone drove down here and took the whole thing. Just the pipe in the picture is what's left. To my surprise though, the cache container was still there.
