Scarborough Marsh, part of the Scarborough Wildlife Management Area, has a turnout along Route 1 where you can take in the grand view of the Scarborough Marsh. Very often from this point, you can see Herons, usually bright white, and not far from the road. They are usually just one here or there, not a flock like normal birds. And the smell of the marsh also, while some feel that it is distasteful, others find joy in the smells of that and of the ocean in the distance.
This geocache is a quick park and grab, but really, take a few minutes to enjoy this pullout from the road and the wonder of the marsh. There are also other geocaches nearby also part of the marsh but closer to the ocean.
I would not recommend leaving trackables, sadly, as at least four have been lost and seem gone forever from this cache.
