Directions:
The stash (Accuracy 35 m Elevation 224 m) is hidden in a 30 litre white screw top plastic bucket, about 600 m north-west of the car park (S 45°26.624' E 167°41.022' Elevation 228 m). Walk down the road to the control structure on the Waiau River. Walk across it to the start of the Kepler track (shut the gate after you). Now, follow the right branch of the track leading to Dock Bay for between 300 and 400 m, then head left into the bush toward the stash for about 150 m. See the hints for more detail.
Note! I should mention at this point that you are now in a national park, avoid damaging the fragile mosses on the ground as you walk, also try to take a different route to the stash than others (i.e., vary your entry points into the bush), thus avoiding unsightly tracks. Oh yeah, as always, bring a map and compass (we don't want you getting lost, do we ;).
You may get to the car park from Sate Highway 95 by turning south-west at about 2 km south of Te Anau (at S 45°26.292' E 167°42.860' Elevation 245 m) and then continue for about 2.5 km down this road.
State Highway 99 is a great scenic route to and from Invercargill. There is an historic suspension bridge at Clifden you can visit, Riverton is quite nice, and Monkey Island is interesting too (park at S 46°18.039' E 167°43.658' Elevation 3 m). Te Anau and Manapouri have plenty scenic boat and aeroplane tours that you could go on (if you can handle their prices).
