This cache is at the edge of a bedrock clearing. A nice place to sit for a rest while hiking up this steep little mountain. The cache is a film canister in an evergreen right at the edge of the clearing.
Hiking up Bartlett is hard work, but so rewarding. The views at the top are stunning. The transition from deciduous forest to cool evergreens is beautiful. Smooth bedrock, soft needle covered trails at the top, lots of rocky trail to get up first. And a gorgeous view at Josiah's Rock as a preview. And there are quite a few caches to find. This one was archived, but the cache itself was still hanging in there. So I checked with the owner and got permission to turn it into a new cache.
