El cache se encuentra en el poblado minero de Rioseco, un conjunto arqueológico industrial situado en la vertiente suroriental de la Sierra del Aramo, en el concejo de Riosa. Consta de un puñado de edificios, la mayoría en ruinas. Aun así es posible hacerse una idea del aspecto que debió tener la explotación en sus años de actividad y son reconocibles los distintos elementos que aquí se conjugaron para la extracción del cobre.
Al parecer existe, o al menos existió, un plan para rehabilitar el lugar, convertirlo en reclamo turístico y encontrar así alguna vía de escape al incierto futuro económico que se cierne sobre las cuencas mineras asturianas como consecuencia del cierre de pozos. Se diría que el proyecto quedó paralizado, probablemente por falta de fondos, aunque sí dio para construir un mirador y colocar algunos paneles con información muy interesante sobre distintos aspectos de la extracción del cobre en las minas del Aramo.
Es más que recomendable también la visita a las minas neolíticas de Texeu. Se encuentran ladera arriba y hay que superar unos 700 m de desnivel para llegar hasta ellas. Pero el interés y la rareza del lugar merecen el esfuerzo. Es inevitable asombrarse al encontrarse de bruces con estas insólitas galerías y especular sobre la pericia y las capacidades del ser humano en tiempos remotos.

The cache is in the mining village of Rioseco, an archaeological industrial complex located on the southeastern face of the Sierra of Aramo, in the council of Riosa. It comprises a handful of buildings, most of them in ruins. However, it is possible to get an idea of the way the place must have looked like when it was in production and different elements involved in the extraction of copper can be recognised.
Apparently there is, or rather there was, a plan to restore the place and turn it into a tourist attraction in order to improve the ominous economical prospects of the mining regions of Asturias due to the closure of wells. It seems that the project was stalled, probably due to a shortage of funds, although there were enough at least to build a modern viewpoint platform and fit a few billboards with interesting information regarding different aspects of the mining of copper here, in the slopes of Aramo.
It is strongly recommendable the visit to the Neolithc mines of Texeu. They are up the hill and about 700 meters of altitude difference have to be overcome to reach them. But the interest and rarity of the place are worth the effort. When bumping into this unusual landmark for the first time, one surely gapes and feels compelled to ponder over the skills and capabilities of human beings in bygone days.
