Geocache Description:

Do walk right in. You are not trespassing. You have indeed come to St Oswald’s Anglican Church. This very welcoming church has constructed a garden (designed by Swinburne University students) that it wants the public to use.

This little cache is a simple find in the Reconciliation Garden. After the find you're welcome to linger and enjoy the garden. Apart from a Wednesday morning group that meets here, it’s a come-and-go-as-you-please kind of place. The garden's official opening was on 4/4/2018. Most of the work in the garden is now complete except for a few small touches.

After you've signed the logbook, please make sure that the cache is well concealed before leaving it for other cachers.

I only discovered this recently, but there are eight David Wright stained glass windows in the church sanctuary. The doors are open throughout the week from 9 am to 4 pm and you are welcome to come and view them. This is also a come-and-go-as-you-please kind of place.

In a little room to the rear of the church building is a free coffee making area. ‘Anyone is welcome to help themselves to it. I must remember to restock the coffee pods,’ said the minister as he showed me the place. Glenn, the minister, is an artist who has some of his paintings on the walls in the sanctuary. He was a 2017 finalist of the prestigious Doug Moran Portrait Art Prize

Wright in Glen Iris

by Cherryslice88

Winter sun summer breeze
Rest a while be at ease
Garden peace neighbor greet
Friend of all here we meet

Signal sure eight do beckon
David Wright gem not second
Coloured panes beauty rare
Church and God Spirit air

Creative improvise
Skilled and able
Ancient New
Future stable

Paint with words
Speak with paint
Craft with wood
Sinner saint

Stone and brick don’t make home
Here or there journey roam
Craftsfolk we all are skilled
Share a space Spirit filled
