World Meteorological Day is celebrated on 23 March. Meteorology is defined as the study science of atmospheric phenomena and their laws, with a special focus on weather forecasting. This day is celebrated the area of knowledge that aims to increase understanding of global atmospheric phenomena. Date Source World Meteorological Day is celebrated on March 23 to commemorate the day of the entry into force of the Convention establishing the World Meteorological Organization (WMO) in 1950 as the United Nations specialized agency for meteorology and climate and subsequently , for hydrology and environment. The date also aims to alert the population to the need to preserve ecosystems as well as make a rational use of the natural resources of the planet Earth.
