Patty Whitehouse Scenic Overview Trail is a fairly new trail located off Glenrose Ave. It has a spectacular view of the old Fore River Shipyard, Mill Cove, BELD headquarters, and the Fore River. Many ships once came through the cove but now only smaller ships come through. I remember the days being a kid seeing the ships through the woods! Most of all the Goliath Crane, a prominent part of the harbor skyline for over thirty years.
This is my first time coming to the end of this trail after finding it 2 years ago. So I decided I simply must hid a new cache and bring more people. This view once included huge structures and the sounds of industrialization. Now the simple sound of red winged blackbirds, and the sight of peaceful water beneath the 2 Weymouth towers. The trail itself is open dawn to dusk but the cache should be accessible at night but not too late. If anyone has any information on this trail, feel free to share it.
