THE CACHE IS NOT LOCATED AT THE LISTED COORDINATES
This is part of an experiment with Groundspeak and integration of Augmented Reality into geocaching.
**** EDIT **** HP Reveal has been sunsetted. You must use Metaverse to find this cache.
This cache requires the use of either an Android or an Iphone with the HP Reveal app or the Metaverse app installed. Links to the apps are below. The app requires you to sign up for a free account. There is no requirement for personal information. I suggest installing and setting up the app prior to attempting the cache.
To locate the cache using HP Reveal:
--> Use one of these links to download the HP Reveal app for Android or for iPhone.
--> Search for the Aura "GC7TJ25".
--> Select the image of the sign.
--> Select "southernflip's Public Auras" then select FOLLOW (you can unfollow after you finish the cache).
--> Once you've set up HP Reveal, go to the posted coords.
--> Open the HP Reveal app and make sure you're at the home screen.
--> Select the blue frame at the bottom of the screen.
--> Point the phone at the sign and make sure you have the volume turned up (you may have to zoom in all the way in the middle and gradually zoom out).
--> You will be provided with coordinates to the final.
To locate the cache using Metaverse:
--> Use one of these links to download the Metaverse app for Android or for iPhone.
--> Set up your profile by clicking on the profile button on the bottom right of the main Metaverse screen.
--> Once you've set up Metaverse, go to the posted coords.
--> Pull up this cache page on your smartphone and click on this link.
--> In Metaverse, the experience will pop up. Press the play button in the middle to launch the experience.
--> You will be provided with coordinates to the final.
If you are unable to get the AR to work:
--> Locate the plaque on the nearby building that is under the Dupont Pool sign.
--> A = the last number of the year that it was first dedicated.
--> B = the first number of the year that it was rededicated.
--> C = A minus B.
--> D = the total number of stones along the front face wall bottom row, including the corners (should be a one digit number).
--> E = the total number of steps to the right including the bottom landing.
--> You should have a 5 digit number (ABCDE). Send an email to southernflipABCDE@gmail.com where you substitute ABCDE with the 5 digit number that you calculated. You can be creative with what you put in the subject line and in the message body. If you were correct, you should receive an email back within a minute providing you with the final coords.
