Geocache Description:

The cache is located at Amidon Memorial Conservation Area, Located on the Castor River, shared by Madison & Bollinger counties.

Here is some info that you might want to know, (this info will not tip off the cache location). #1. There are no facilities located at Amidon, I suggest you stop off in town and make any necessary "pit stops". #2. Expect crowds, this is a popular place for swimmers/sunbathers etc. #3. Bug spray, enough said about that. #4. Watch for snakes (saw 2 while I was hiding this cache). #5. There is a marked trail, take it for a different way back from the shut-ins. DIRECTIONS; From Fredericktown, take 72E. to "J", Left on "J" to "W" right on "W" then follow the signs. When you come to the fork-in-the-road go left to shut-ins parking. If you go to the right you will come to another parking lot, when you pull in look straight ahead and you will see the tombstone of John Hawn (1827-1886). Mr. Hawn operated a mill on Castor River There is not much of it left good luck if you try to find it.
