Geocache Description:

A fairly short walk and a little scrambling through some bush; the footing is a little tricky at times.

We set this cache shortly after our daughter's wedding in nearby Foxtrap, taking the bride and groom and half the wedding party with us(Beth Stewart Batten & Chris Batten (B+G), Peter Stewart, Bob Cohen (Memphis, Tennessee), Lili & Steve Harrison (Fresno, CA + Ensenada, B.C., Mexico), Dan & Tina Stewart (Corner Brook, NF).

We also and almost by accident found the Amphitheatre cache so people will now be able to find two in fairly close proximity with one outing to Topsail Beach.

The cache has bumper stickers and other souvenirs (one particularly nice one) from Mexico, a little collegiate bear (who is not a mascot, so feel free to take him), some NF notecards, and a few other odds and ends.

[added 30/05/04] We did some cache maintenance last week--replaced the log book and checked for moisture, etc.. The cache is still in good shape after 30+ visitors--a testimony to the essential civility of Newfoundlanders (and the folks who have the sense to visit). Good Luck, Daniel and Tina (and Chris and Beth and Peter and Robert and Lily and Steve)

[added October 12/04] We were finally able to visit the cache after hearing that it had been looted. We replaced the log book and added some goodies. Thanks to all who have visited and particularly those folks who cleaned up the cache and re-hid it.

[added June 8/08] The cache has been cleaned up. It was vandalized and the log book partly burned. Thanks to the cachers who replaced the container. We added a new picture.

[added July 21/10] The cache has been cleaned up and new goodies added. Thanks to those who helped since the last maintenance.

[added July 2/12] Many thanks to Jewel&Gem for cache maintenance (and to others who have done similarly). We found it difficult to get the the cache this month and appreciate their charity.

[added June 2/13] Almost 11 years for this cache and 185 visits--Today the old married couple, two youngsters, the even older married couple, and visitors from Wales renewed the cache with a new container and goodies. Thanks to all who did maintenance--the cache gets wet over the winter; but it's a good spot, I think.

[added September 22/13] Essentially replaced the whole cache today--new container and and new goodies and log book. Please enjoy the cache.

[added August 4/15] Cache maintenance today -- the cache was in good shape and was replenished with stickers, pencils, trading cards, and Newfoundland keychains. Watch it when you get near the cache. There is a wasps' nest in the ground about 10 metres off the trail on a line from the trail to the cache.
