Starting in 2011 the idea of the Matala Beach Festival was a reunion of the hippies who lived in the caves of Matala during the 60s and 70s.
The festival became an annual event and every June people are coming from all over Europe to join a 3 days beach party with music from the Greek music scene as well as international bands.
Street painting and hippy markets are organized and Matala is full of Flower Power and the Spirit of Love & Peace.
