This cache is located near the start of the Mount Pemigewasset Trail, which leads 1.8 miles to the summit of Mount Pemigewasset (2557 ft.), a popular destination for a moderate hike with excellent views at the top. To access the trail and cache, walk north about 150 yards on the paved bike path (Franconia Notch Recreation Trail) to a sign for the hiking trail on the left. The bike path is a busy snowmobile route in winter, at which time it is safest to walk along the edge of the trail. You are looking for a camoed bison about 50 feet off the trail to the left, shortly after you start on the Mount Pemigewasset Trail. Snowshoes are recommended in winter.
