.Walking south from the fire break track along a closed 4wd track( heading towards Red Gums) this walk will take you comfortably one hour(3.3 kms approx) to reach this cache. When you are inline with the cache from this track, pick a suitable path and climb Mt Ranae. Its will be clearly obvious where Mt Ranae is.. Take your time. There is no rush! Climb the mountain and enjoy. Mt Ranae has fantastic views. Looking North towards the firebreak track, You will see Murrayvilles farming paddocks and to the south the camp ground, Red Gums and its magnificent trees approximately 2kms away. BE PREPARED. Take a small backpack with water, snacks, mobile phone and a uhf radio . Advisable to walk with somebody or let someone know where your headed prior to leaving. The main track is reasonably defined but in some parts is overgrown. It is also advisable to keep heading south to Red Gums after this cache is found, as it is a shorter distance to walk (approximately 2 kms) or even start your journey from Red Gums campground.
