The LEC - Secrets of Surrey Episode 2
Come and see one of the hidden secrets of Surrey!
Date: Saturday 27th April
Time: 16:00 to 17:00
The LEC has run a number of events on Reigate Hill in the past, but never at this location, which is less well known. It's off the main North Downs Way, and offers what I consider the best panaromic views in this area. It's also quite secluded and a real surprise if you've not found this place before.
There are two car parks listed as waypoints.
Wray Lane Car Park is free, has a cafe and toilets, but often very busy. I'm hoping that this later start time should make parking easier. It is the longer walk to the meeting point, some 2.1km approx, so a perfect afternoon stroll along the North Downs Way. If you've walked along here before, the meeting point is twice as far from the car park compared to the Inglis Memorial (where the LEC has met before).
Margery Lane Car Park is normally less busy but there's a charge to park unless you are a National Trust member. It's a much shorter walk to the meeting point (700 m approx).
I've also added a waypoint to show a suggestion where to come off the North Downs Way.
There will be an opportunity to swap trackables - all geocachers welcomed!
The League of Extraordinary Cachers (LEC)
Formed in 2015, the League of Extraordinary Cachers (LEC) are a group of enthusiastic geocachers, who want to enjoy shared geocaching adventures, meet as many geocachers as possible to chat, swap stories, trackables and encourage geocaching, whilst having lots of fun. We champion the use of digital technology including Facebook, YouTube and Twitter and use this to promote geocaching worldwide, which we’ve done with great success!
