Geocache Description:

Joe

5/20/1993 - 3/23/2019

Joe was a soft spoken, kind and thoughtful man. Anyone who had the opportunity to meet Joe quickly realized what an amazing person he was and appreciated their time in his company.

Joe grew up in Sandown NH but wanted to travel the country, meet people and find new adventures. He traveled mostly on foot and caught rides when he could. Traveling to Sanford ME, Plaistow NH, Haverhill, MA and then in the fall/winter of 2016-2017 he made his way down to South Carolina. Joe then traveled back north and arrived in Massachusetts in May of 2017. Along his travels he made bracelets and other crafty items to sell or trade.

In January 2018, after spending time in Maine with friends and in New Hampshire visiting his parents, during the Holidays. Joe was able to get a bus ticket to California, a place high up on his bucket list. He arrived in Arcata, CA. where he stayed for a short while. Over time Joe headed southward. Along the way he met and became friends with a fellow traveler, named “Dinosaur”. Together they made their way to Monterey, CA where they stayed for about 6 months.

In March of 2019 Joe and Dinosaur made plans to head north from Monterey, CA so they could visit one of Joe’s uncles and then travel east to New Hampshire.

On 3/23/19, just days before they were supposed to start their trek, Joe was tragicly killed in Moss Landing California.

Joe was loved by many, many people and will be greatly missed.

Joe’s parents (fellow Geocachers) have consented to the placement of this cache in their son’s memory.
