Geocache Description:

Hi! This is a multi virtual geocache. I was thinking about creating a normal one, but at last I chose virtual.
I'm happy that I could hide a cache here, because I love the Castle and I think it has a very nice architecture and also a good vista point. I'm surprised this is the first cache here. :-)
Now let's see the cache.

I suggest to start from Deak square, where you can go up to the Castle by the bus 16 or from the Moszkva square and "varbusz" (castle bus). Of course if you want ou can go by foot or by bicycle, this is why I set terrain difficulty to 1.5. The caches can be visited with an easy one hour walk even with the family, but I suggest don't visit only the caches, take 2-3 hours to wander around the Castle and enter some museums. It can be a great Sunday afternoon program.

1. Ruin. The coordinates of this above. This is a ruin. The church was built in 1269 for the glory of St. John. In 1301 III. Endre was buried here; he was the last king of the House of Arpads. The chuch was completely destroyed when the Castle was recaptured from the Osmans (1686). What you can see there now is the tower of the Maria Magdalena church built that time. In 1792 I. Ferenc was crowned here.

First part of the passowrd: The first word on the black marble board. (4 letters)

2. View to Buda. N 47° 30.055' E 19° 01.858'. I only included this point, because people usually don't visit this side of the Castle, although it has a great view to Buda and some very nice little streets. This is a bastion.

Second part of the password: Number of trees on the Bastion.

3. Statue of King Stephen. N 47° 30.112' E 19° 02.095'. This is probably the most frequently visited part of the Castle. Beside the statue, here is Halászbástya (Fisherman's Bastion), Mátyás templom (Mathias church), Szentháromság square and the St. Mihály chapel which is only visited by a few people, but it's a very nice chapel in the hill. You can go below the ground at one corner of the Halászbástya. I suggest it to everyone!

Third part of the password: The 1st word of the text on the back of the statue (East-SouthEast). 6 letters.

4. The Castle itself. N 47° 29.792' E 19° 02.410'. While walking to this point it's worth to visit the ruin-area, the trees newly planted by the brother cities, the Sikló, the nice view and the Castle itself of course. The cache is a statue again.

Fourth part of the password: The 1st word of the text on the North side of the statue. 4 letters

Of course there are a lot of other place to put geocaches, but if someone just runs through these point will see a lot from the Castle. I hope everyone will take a few hours to get known the area better.

Have a good sight-seeing!
