Thanks for taking such good care of our cache! It's amazing that
the cache made it through all the islandic winters since 2002
although we cannot maintenance it.
The cache is situated close to the eastern shore of lake Myvatn,
about 5 km south of Reykjahlid and not too far away from
Dimmuborgir
Look for a parking place somewhere around the coordinates
N 65 ° 34.318
W 016° 56.921
The parking lot we used in 2002 does not exist any more - sorry for
this inconvenience.
From there on you have to do a little bit of climbing in the lava
fields. One of the lava mounds has a flat plateau. The cache is
wrapped in bags (through the years, the box is broken and the
logbook is full).
We kindly ask you to keep the cache dry and put it in a fresh
plastic bag if appropriate.
