I was incredibly fortunate to win one of the 4000 virtual caches awarded in 2019, and I can't think of a more interesting place than this brick hearth located in the ruins of Pompeii. For some reason, I found this to be one of the most interesting places to ponder the daily life of the residents of Pompeii. It is easy to imagine people coming here to bake and socialize before the eruption of Vesuvio. This area is among the many side streets and somewhat away from the crowds. Take some time to ponder the amazing and disasterous thing that happened here.
To log this cache, take a photo of of yourself and something with your Geocaching user name written with the brick oven in the background. If you prefer, you do not need to show your face. Please post the photo to your log. If the gate is closed for some reason, you can still take a photo from the street by standing near the doorway with a placard that has the number 11 on it. Please note that this cache is only available while the archelogical site is open. Hours are Monday - Friday from 9:00 - 18:00 and Saturday - Sunday from 8:30 to 18:00. Sono stato così fortunato da vincere una delle 4000 cache virtual e non riesco a pensare a un posto più interessante di questa piazzetta di mattoni all'interno delle rovine di Pompei. Per qualche ragione, credo che questo sia uno dei posti più interessanti dove riflettere su come gli abitanti di Pompei vivevano la loro vita di tutti i giorni. È facile immaginarsi persone che andavano alla piazzetta per cucinare il pane e incontrare gente, prima dell'eruzione del Vesuvio. L'area è in mezzo a diverse stradine laterali e lontano dalle folle. Prendetevi qualche minuto per pensare alle cose meravigliose e terribili che sono accadute qui.
Per loggare questa cache, fate una foto che mostri il forno di mattoni sullo sfondo e che includa voi stessi e qualcosa con su scritto il vostro nome utente. Allegate la foto al vostro log per validarlo. Se il cancello è chiuso per qualche motivo, potete fare la foto dalla stradina laterale, vicino al passaggio con la placca numero 11. La cache è disponibile solamente quando il sito archeologico è aperto. Gli orari sono dal lunedì al venerdì dalle 9:00 alle 18:00, mentre il sabato e la domenica dalle 8:30 alle 18:00.
