Geocache Description:

03 August 2019, 10:00 - 12:00

I want to run a 'different' type of CITO with the help of the local LandCare group. The local coordinator of Phillip Island Urban LandCare Group welcomed the offer and had a special project in mind for us. A new Catholic Church School opened on land which had been farmland, but they want to plant lots of indigenous (locally native) plants for screening, habitat improvement and many other reasons.

The local LandCare group is well equipped with tools, a mobile toilet and provide lunch for Participants, including vegetarians! They and many other environmental groups around Phillip Island have a Bush Bank which grows indigenous plants for projects like this one.

The ground is likely to be very soggy so gumboots or boots, warm, waterproof clothing and enthusiasm are all you need to bring. Hopefully we'll have enough workers between Geocachers and family of the school students will be able make short work of the task in hand.

There is plenty of parking in the school grounds, where GZ is.

Please indicate numbers attending with your 'Will Attend'logs and register before Thursday 18th July and if you'd prefer meat or vegetarian BBQ lunch.

Start: 10am

Finish 12 noon.
