Uvas Cache Traditional Geocache

This cache has been archived.

Krypton: As there's been no cache to find for months, I'm archiving it to keep it from continually showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements. If you wish to repair/replace the cache sometime in the future, just contact us (by email), and assuming it meets the guidelines, we'll be happy to unarchive it.

Geocache Description:

Located near a beautiful trail that meanders alongside a nice stream part way up. The trail is well shaded, which makes for a pleasant walk, but makes it tough to keep a good constellation on the receiver.

We placed this cache just off the trail. Enjoy the waterfalls during the first part of the trail. The trail then begins climbing alongside the creek, make sure to wear good shoes because the trail is loose in some places. It's a loop trail, just under three miles long. If you're not in shape, the climbs can wear you out. I once took a six or seven year old on it, she did OK. Take water and enjoy the natural intimacy of the park.

The cache is in a blue topped Tupperware container and includes:

  • Geocache letter
  • Spiral notebook and pen
  • Disposable camera
  • Rapala fishing lure
  • Soft-strike baseball
  • Rafiki small plush toy (from Phil's Cache)
  • Small TREAD lightly pocket knife
  • Worry stone
  • Cassette Tape (Jim Steinman's "Bad for Good")
  • Star Trek bookmark
  • Monster Pencil Top

Admin update 12 Feb. 2004
Nostrada has been kind enough to replace the container with an ammobox. It would be nice for the next cachers to donate a few goodies in the spirit of geocaching. He put the container in, you put in some nice toys or other stuff! (to paraphrase Nostrada's suggestion). Thanks!!!

Update 5/14/06 by Nazgul: The owners haven't been geocaching and as this was my first cache find in early 2004 I've adopted the cache from them, with their permission of course. I get to Uvas Canyon regularly so I'll check on the cache as needed. I've updated the terrain and difficulty and will add attributes to the page.
