Welcome to Ferry Landing State Park! This replaces my old Dinghy Dock cache that kept getting muggled. It's still a good place to launch a kayak from the beach but the cache has been moved further in. This beautiful CT River park includes a gazebo, picnic tables, and a long boardwalk you can fish from. It also happens to be the home of the D.E.E.P. Marine Headquarters. Fishing licenses and boating courses are available here. In the 19th century there was ferry service over to Old Saybrook, across the river. And for many years in the 20th century, there was a very successful restaurant here called the Ferry Tavern, which burned down in 1999.
Stealth required and please rehide well, many people frequent this beautiful area. **This geocache has been approved by the Department of Energy & Environmental Protection (DEEP).
